THE Port of Barcelona Management Board has approved a EUR60 million (US$68 million) for increased capacity at Hutchison Ports BEST, reports London's Port Technology International.
Hong Kong-based Hutchison will invest EUR31 million to increase its container block capacity from 27 to 34, increasing capacity by 26 per cent or 700,000 TEU.
The remaining EUR29 million will be invested in machinery, including 14 new automated cranes.
