On September 25th-28th, a delegation representing Shanghai International Shipping Institute (SISI) headed by Yu Shicheng, President of Shanghai Maritime University and Director of SISI, and Li Gang, Deputy Secretary-General of SISI made a friendly visit to Korea.
Mr. Li went to maritime institutions like the Korea Shipowners' Association (KSA), Korean Shippers' Council (KSC), Korea Port Logistics Association, and Korean Register of Shipping (KR) and kicked off friendly exchanges with representatives of these institutions. Upon the invitation from Korea Maritime Institute, Mr. Yu gave a speech at KBS Media Center. His presentation focused on three aspects, namely, the progress Shanghai has achieved amidst turning itself into an international shipping center and international financial center, the trend of development of international shipping market and crisis management strategy of shipping companies, and prospect of strengthening exchanges and cooperation between China and Korea in maritime and logistics. The presentation was well received. The thoughtful arrangement and gracious hospitality enjoyed by the delegation during their visit were highly appreciated.
Korea Maritime Institute and Shanghai International Shipping Institute have made headway in our bilateral cooperation during the last three years or so. Both parties look forward to each other’s continual support in their future research as well as other undertakings, and keenly hope that they share an even better future in our cooperation.
The September visit is bound to usher in another round of new development between Korea Maritime Institute and Shanghai International Shipping Institute in their future cooperation.
