A Japanese destroyer has collided with a South Korean container ship in the Kanmon Strait, triggering a fire on board the warship and leaving the box ship's hull holed. One member of the Japanese crew was injured in the incident and five more while fighting the fire, while the container vessel's 16 men were unharmed. The 704 teu Carina Star is now bound for Osaka while the destroyer, Kurama, is returning to Sasebo. The Japanese authorities have launched an investigation into the incident.
