Oil leak after port clash
Date:2009-10-26 Readers:

A Chinese ship hit a Belgian cargo vessel in a dock in north China on Saturday, causing an oil leak, the local maritime authority said yesterday.

Chinese oil tanker Jinyou No 1 hit the stern of the Lowlands Prosperity while docking at the Kuangshi Wharf at Caofeidian port in Hebei Province.

The crew of the 289-m-long, 45-m-wide Belgian ship had planned to unload and refill with oil at the dock. The collision caused damage to the hull and an oil leak.
