XINJIANG's overland border checkpoint Alataw Pass, on the Kazakhstani border posted a cargo movement of 8.28 million tonnes with an 8.6 per cent year on year in the first four months, ranking the first in China for four months running, reports Xinhua.

    The import volume fell nine per cent to 2.87 million tonnes while the exports grew 32 per cent to 1.74 million tonnes, revealing how imports decreased as exports increased. This was attributed to many more empty containers being imported and more cargo being exported.
