Roundtable of Shanghai International Shipping Forum 2010 Held Successfully

The two-hour Roundtable of Shanghai International Shipping Forum 2010 was held at Hyatt on the Bund Hotel at 15:30, March 24. Themed "Explore Policies to Promote the Integrated Experimental Zone for International Shipping Development", the Roundtable featured presence of representatives from central ministries, local governments, enterprises, research institutions, colleges and universities, etc. Zhang Shouguo, Deputy Director of the Department of Water Transport under the Ministry of Transport, chaired this session.


The representatives from central ministries included Li Lianzhong, Director of Economy Bureau of Policy Research Office of the CPC Central Committee; Zhang Shouguo, Deputy Director of the Department of Water Transport under the Ministry of Transport of the People's Republic of China; Yu Shengying, Deputy Director of Department of Comprehensive Planning of the Ministry of Transport; Pan Cheng, Deputy Chief of the Department of Inspection and Quarantine Clearance, General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine of the People's Republic of China; and Wang Mingzhi, Director of the General Office, the Administration Committee of the Shanghai Combination Port. Representatives from local governments included Huang Rong, Director of Shanghai Urban Construction and Communications Commission; Xiao Lin, Deputy Director of Shanghai Municipal Development and Reform Commission; Shen Xiaosu, Deputy Director of Shanghai Urban Construction and Communications Commission; Zhu Jianhua, Deputy Director of Shanghai Municipal Transport and Port Authority; Yu Beihua, District Mayor of Hongkou District Government of Shanghai; and Ying Mingyong, Deputy District Mayor of Hongkou District Government of Shanghai. Representatives from enterprises included Bao Qifan, Vice President of Shanghai International Port (Group) Co., Ltd.; Jia Hongxiang, General Manager of Grand China Logistics (Group) Holding Co. Ltd.; Li Zhen, Assistant to the President of SINOTRANS & CSC; Xu Qiumin, General Manager of Sinotrans Container Lines Co., Ltd.; Chen Xiang, Deputy General Manager of COSCO Container Lines Co., Ltd.; and Xu Li, Assistant to the Governor of Shanghai Branch, Industrial and Commercial Bank of China. Representatives from research institutions, colleges and universities included Qian Yongchang, Chairman of China Communications and Transportation Association; Zhang Xiang, Executive Director of China Center for International Economic Exchanges; Ma Shuo, Vice President of World Maritime University; Zhang Ye, President of Shanghai Shipping Exchange; Xu Ping, Deputy Chief Engineer of China Academy of Transportation Sciences; Zhu Changyu, Deputy Director of the Research Office of China Shipping (Group) Company; Zhen Hong, Secretary-General of SISI; Lu Jian, Professor of Shanghai Jiao Tong University; and Sun Guangqi, Professor of Dalian Maritime University.


At the meeting, Wang Mingzhi, Zhang Xiang, Zhen Hong, Li Lianzhong, Bao Qifan, Li Zhen and Qian Yongchang expressed views and suggestions about the construction of Shanghai International Shipping Center and policies on promoting the Integrated Experimental Zone for International Shipping Development. Director Li Lianzhong said that Shanghai is a bright star of China. Supporting Shanghai is a way to support the country; supporting the construction of Shanghai International Shipping Center is a way to develop China's marine shipping industry. Shanghai is the ideal home for the Integrated Experimental Zone for International Shipping Development.
