THE enlarged area of Shanghai's Yangshan Bonded Port Area has passed acceptance check and is ready to start operation.

The Yangshan Bonded Area is enlarged by 6.02-square kilometre phase with the phase two expansion project. Now its total area has been raised to 14.16 square kilometres.

The inspection team, which was composed of officials from the Shanghai customs and other authorities, examined the customs supervision facilities in the expanded area and confirmed that the area is qualified to start operation, according to Xinhua.
