Global Logistics Properties' Hunan facility up and running by year end
Date:2013-12-13 Readers:

A NEW logistics park owned by Global Logistics Properties Ltd (GLP), Asia's largest logistics property developer, in central province Hunan's Jinzhou New District will be operational by the end of this year, becoming biggest in the province, Xinhua reports.

GLP's Jinzhou logistics park is the second project built in the six central provinces in China after the one in Anhui province's Hefei city. It covers 37.66 hectares with a warehousing area of 113,000 square metres.

The facility's annual throughput is expected to hit 20 million tonnes, bringing over CNY90 million's (US$14.82 million) tax revenue to the government. A number of China's largest logistics service providers and e-tailers are in talks with GLP on using facilities in the new logistics park.

GLP operates 76 logistics parks, totalling more than 17 million square metres in area in 25 major domestic cities including Shanghai, Qingdao and Guangzhou. Seventy per cent of its customers are Fortune 500 firms.
