GREENCARRIER has announced plans to merge its separate freight forwarding and logistics activities in Norway to form a combined organisation will be part of its freight services division.

The legal name of the merged organisation will be Greencarrier Shipping & Logistic, with Kare Thuesen becoming managing director.

"By pooling our strengths, we can offer customers the widest range of services, making us stronger and paving the way for new business opportunities," said Greencarrier freight services chief Peter Nevhagen.

The merger will make it easier for customers to do business with the group. "It ensures our products and services are more transparent to our customers and the outside world," he said.

Said Mr Thuesen: "It is a logical step as in the past the two companies have offered both complementary and similar services and products but operated in different geographical locations.

"The merger paves the way for a more unified approach and the larger geographical footprint enables us to offer our customers a wide product range with a local presence. It will also simplify the process for our suppliers, as they now will relate to Greencarrier's forwarding and logistics activities in one company."

Greencarrier Shipping & Logistics has 150 employees with offices in Bergen, Drammen, Kristiansand, Larvik, Moss, Oslo and Stavanger.
