Holding a degree in “Water Transport Economy and Organization” from Shanghai Maritime College (now Shanghai Maritime University), Cai Meiyi had served successively as the labor union chairman and deputy chief of Shanghai International Port (Group) Co., Ltd., and standing vice president of Shanghai Port Trade Association. Cai Meiyi is now the deputy director of Port Development Institute of Shanghai International Shipping Institute, member of the expert committee of Shanghai International Shipping Institute and a senior economist.
