Zhang Guofa, vice chairman, executive director, vice president and Party committee member of China Shipping (Group) Company and board member of China Shipping Development Co., Ltd. Zhang began his shipping career in 1980 and has worked in different positions in MOT Water Transport Department from 1991 to 2000. He was assistant to director of MOT Water Transport Department from July 2000 to Nov 2001 and deputy director of the department from Nov 2001 to Nov 2004, and has been vice president of China Shipping (Group) Company since then. He became a Party committee member of the company in Dec 2005. Zhang got his bachelor’s degree and master’s degree from Wuhan University in 1988 and 1991 respectively, and a PhD from the Department of Economics of Wuhan University in 1997.
