Kong Fancun, professor, doctoral supervisor, currently deputy secretary of the Party committee and vice president of Shanghai Maritime University. Kong graduated from the Department of Navigation of Dalian Maritime University in 1982, became a teacher at Navigation Department in Shanghai Maritime University that year, and graduated from that university in 1990 with a master’s degree in seamanship. Kong has published papers including The Design of Ship Collision Simulation System Based on VDR Playback Data and Fiber-optic Gyrocompass and Its Marine Application. Engaged in higher education and scientific research of navigation for many years, Kong has been honored as Excellent Educator of Shanghai and won many awards, including First Prize for Teaching Achievement in Shanghai, Second Prize for Teaching Achievement in China, and Wu Fu-Zhen Hua Excellent Teacher Award for Transportation Education.
