Wang Xiaofeng, executive deputy chief of SISI Shipping Information Technology Institute, PhD, professor and dean of College of Information and Engineering of Shanghai Maritime University. Wang has been an off-campus doctoral supervisor of Luton University in Britain, member of Machine Learning Committee of Chinese Association for Artificial Intelligence, councilor of Computer Application Federation of China Instrument and Control Society, and executive councilor of Liaoning Computer and Software Society. Wang’s research is focused on data mining, knowledge discovery, computational grid and application, and intelligent information processing. He has published about 40 papers in academic journals, including 11 collected by EI, acted as editor-in-chief of two teaching materials and monographs, and translated one book. Wang has presided over and participated in two key research projects sponsored by National Natural Science Foundation, and presided over three research topics sponsored by province-level foundation and one project under education research foundation. He has also undertaken a number of topics entrusted by various enterprises, bringing substantial economic benefits to them.
