Lin Jiang, deputy chief of SISI Shipping Policy and Law Institute. Lin got his bachelor’s degree in economics from Shanghai Maritime University, master’s degree in law from University of Southampton in Britain, and PhD in law from University of London. Lin has been an assistant and probationary lawyer in the British law firm Sinclair Roche & Temperley for five years and a lawyer in another British law firm Ince & Co for five years too. Lin is now an arbitrator of Shanghai Arbitration Commission, Shanghai Arbitration Court of International Shipping, Chartered Institute of Arbitrators in Britain and London Maritime Arbitrators Association, and also a teacher at the Law School of Shanghai Maritime University. Lin has completed a number of shipbuilding and financing research projects for Shanghai Municipal Government, government of Pudong New District, China Development Bank and China Association of the National Shipbuilding Industry, published more than ten papers on civil and commercial law and admiralty law, and given speeches at international conferences many times.
