Tong Mengda, born in Ningbo, Zhejiang province, senior economist, chief economist of Ningbo Port Group Co., Ltd. Tong got his bachelor’s degree in price control from the School of Business Administration of Shanghai University, and master’ degree in Political Economy from the School of Economics of Fudan University in Dec 2001. Starting his first job at Ningbo Price Inspection Bureau in April 1984, Tong had since then worked in Ningbo Planning Commission (Dec 1993-Jan 1996), in Ningbo government as deputy director of Economic Research Center and of the Office of Port Planning, Construction and Management Committee (Jan 1996-Jan 2003), and in Ningbo Municipal People's Political Consultative Conference as deputy secretary-general, director of Ningbo Economy, Science and Technology Committee, and vice chairman of Ningbo Federation of Social Science Circles (Jan 2003-Jan 2005). Tong has been chief economist of Ningbo Port Group Co., Ltd. ever since Jan 2007.
