The Shanghai FTZ administration introduced 10 pioneering tax measures on July 7, such as automatic coding and online invoice application, to further connect with the prevailing international rules.

The FTZ will apply online automatic coding starting July 8. Instead of tax registration applications from taxpayers, tax authorities can issue tax registration numbers automatically based on enterprise information provided by the commerce and quality supervision departments. This breakthrough saves both time and labor to ensure taxpayers get access to tax information and registration codes.
