FTZ to pilot judicial system reform
Date:2014-07-16 Readers:

Pudong New District administrators, in the city of Shanghai, announced some judicial mechanism reforms in the China (Shanghai) Pilot Free Trade Zone, on July 11, with calls for a "Three-year Action Plan for Pudong Laws" to explore a judicial organization structure and operation mechanism of judicial power suitable for a FTZ with international standards and legal environment.

The plan calls for judicial reforms in the FTZ and for exploring judicial protection that meets the needs of an international FTZ, to provide experiences applicable to other areas in the future.

The administrators aim to improve the judiciary and provide judicial support for the FTZ with investment and trade convenience, currency exchange, and a normal legal system.

They also intend to do more case studies on finance and intellectual property rights to back the FTZ’s main functions and focus on the legal needs of the coastal area for more progress in coastal development.
