Mike Foletti, GM International & Surface MST, and Yan Lin, GM MST China Co. Ltd visited Shanghai International Shipping Institute (SISI) today.

MST (Mine Site Technologies Pty Limited) is the global leader in the design, manufacture, and deployment of critical, high quality, safety focused solutions for mine communications, personnel and equipment tracking and monitoring, automation, and enhanced production. The Proximity Detection System or Collision Avoidance Technologies can be implemented to reduce the risk of the people coming into contact with vehicles in an uncontrolled manner. The company has gone further to provide terminal operation safety solutions, which it hopes can find applications in terminals worldwide. The system has already been employed by some terminals owned by DP World and APMT.

The two sides began their meeting with a brief introduction of their respective organizations. The Australian guests presented the safety system and discussed with representatives of SISI on the potential application, pros and cons as well as the possible expanse of its application on terminals.
