The CKYHE Alliance, made up of Cosco, "K" Line, Yang Ming, Hanjin and Evergreen, has filed to US regulatory authorities its intention to expand cooperation and scope of US trades.

Regarding the expansion of the cooperation, CKYHE already sent letters to China's Ministry of Transport and the US Federal Maritime Commission (FMC) and informed the European Commission of developments, said an Alliance statement.

In US trades, CKYHE will follow the same pattern of cooperation that the alliance deployed in the Asia-Europe, Mediterranean trades in the past year, the statement said.

"This expanded cooperation will provide the carriers with greater operational flexibility and will permit each to better serve customers, offering wider port coverage, increased frequency and stable transit times," said the statement.

CKYHE said it acknowledged its environmental obligations, and their cooperation will be benefits to the environment.
