Hanjin Shipping is taking slots on two weekly loops operated by Evergreen, Cosco, PIL, "K" Line and MOL to offer two-way Far East-South Africa services.

As part of a service rationalisation, the South Korean shipping line will from the end of October take slots on the two revised loops, FAX-C/ASA-C and FAX-S/ASA-S.

The port rotation of the FAX-C/ASA-C is Shanghai, Ningbo, Keelung, Singapore, Durban, Singapore, Shanghai.

It is operated by seven 4,200-TEU range ships, which turn in seven weeks.

The port rotation of the FAX-S/ASA-S is Kaohsiung, Xiamen, Hong Kong, Shenzhen-Shekou, Singapore, Port Kelang, Durban, Cape Town, Port Kelang, Singapore and back to Kaohsiung.

This service is operated by eight ships ranging in size from 4,200-6,300 TEU and turns in eight weeks, reported Alphaliner.

Previously, Hanjin served the South Africa-Far East trade in the eastbound direction through wayporting at Ngqura and Durban on the eastbound legs of the Far East-east coast South America services operated by Hanjin jointly with Maersk, CMA CGM, CSAV, Hamburg Sud, CSCL and CCNI.
