Based on the relation between Shenzhen port and Shenzhen’s economic development, this report proposes the method to calculate how much the Shenzhen port has contributed to the economy. By looking at the industrial characteristics of Shenzhen port, the report analyzes the direct, indirect and ripple contributions made by Shenzhen port to Shenzhen’s economic development as well as its contributions to the social development, and compares the contributions to urban economy made by such major ports as Shenzhen port, Shanghai port, Guangzhou and Hangzhou port.
