Xiamen is a modern international city in China with rich port, sightseeing and tourism resources, and also a key central city on the west side of the straits. Boasting favorable port conditions, rapid development of shipping related industries and the strong support from other ports on the southeastern coast, Xiamen is well positioned to build the southeast international shipping center. This research reports comprehensively analyzes the strategic significance for Xiamen to build this center and puts forth its strategic positioning and development goals. In terms of infrastructure construction, container hub, shipping service and port and shipping informatization, the report sets forth the main tasks for building the center and proposes a working plan to promote this work.
