Swiss logistics giant Kuehne + Nagel has started operations at its new logistics centre in Greater Sydney to meet the growing demand for end-to-end logistics solutions.
The facility is located in the fast developing logistics hub area Eastern Creek.
"This development fits well with our vision for Eastern Creek to be a logistics hub for Sydney," said Blacktown City Mayor Stephen Bali, at the opening ceremony.
Based on a built-to-suit concept, the state-of-the-art centre offers 20,000 square metres of warehousing space with eight loading docks and levellers.
Technical features include pick by voice technology and radio frequency (RF) scanning which help to improve workflow processes, reduce time required to pick, pack and ship item and enable orders to be fulfilled faster, a company statement said.
