Maersk Line, the world's biggest shipping company, plans to raise freight rates for moving container cargo from Asia to northern Europe by US$800 per TEU from January 15, the company announced.

Rates on the route, the world's busiest for container shipping, fell by 5.6 percent in the last week of 2014 to $1,085 per TEU, according to data from the Shanghai Containerised Freight Index, Reuters reported.
