Taiwan's Yang Ming Marine has announced that it will deploy the 4,662-TEU YM Enlightenment on its China-Pakistan Express (CPX) service, reports IHS Maritime 360.

This new ship was the third of five same-size ships built by Taiwan's China Shipbuilding Corporation (CSBC). With a length of 259 metres and width of 37.3 metres, this eco-friendly vessel can cruise at 22.9 knots.

Yang Ming also announced that it would be opening a new Japan-Taiwan-Thailand (JT2) service together with Singapore's APL. Three 1,800-TEU container vessels, one from Yang Ming and two from APL, will be deployed for this service.

With 21 days for a round voyage, the JT2 service will call at Laem Chabang, Hong Kong, Kaohsiung, Osaka, Kobe, Moji, Hakata, Kaohsiung, Shenzhen-Chiwan and back to Laem Chabang.

The rotation of the CPX service is Shanghai, Ningbo, Shenzhen-Shekou, Singapore, Karachi, Mundra, Port Kelang, Singapore, Hong Kong and back to Shanghai.
