Thai feeder operator Regional Container Lines (RCL) and Japan's Mitsui OSK Lines (MOL) will start direct calls to Yangon in Myanmar, commencing from April 29.

RCL said in a statement that the new service, RCL Thai Yangon, will link up one of its existing Thailand-Singapore strings with its Singapore-Yangon service, reported IHS Maritime 360.

"The combined rotation will include Thai Prosperity Terminal (TPT), Singapore, Yangon, Port Klang, Singapore and back to TPT. This will be a three-vessel, 21-day joint service with current partner MOL," the RCL release said.

RCL will operate two 1,288-TEU ships and MOL one 1,248-TEU vessel in this rotation.
