IAG Cargo has begun the global rollout of its new e-booking service, an advanced online booking and management system, starting in Spain.

The enhanced features of the web-based booking system include self-service registration, template bookings and auto-rating to offer forwarders a quick way to book via the company website.

Said IAG Cargo IT chief Angel Cabeza Rivas: "The air cargo industry is going through a period of rapid digitalisation. The enhanced, feature-rich e-booking service we have launched in Spain means we are at the forefront of this change."

In the first few weeks following its launch, 15 per cent of all bookings in Spain were made through the new system that will gradually be rolled out globally, a company statement said.
