G6 Alliance members - APL, Hapag-Lloyd, Hyundai Merchant Marine, MOL, NYK Line and OOCL - are adding port calls to two of their container shipping services, branded the Central China 2 (CC2) and the South China 1 (SC1) by NYK.

The move comes in response not only to market demand but will also serve to improve Asia-North America (Pacific southwest) transit times and network coverage, said the G6 statement.

Under the revisions, an additional Busan call will be added to the CC2 service on the following port rotation of Ningbo, Shanghai, Busan, Long Beach and back to Ningbo.

The first voyage to stop at Busan will be operated by the OOCL Kuala Lumpur, voyage number: OKL 075E. It is scheduled to arrive in Ningbo on June 28 and in Long Beach on July 16.

A Kaohsiung, Taiwan call will be added to the SC1 service, eastbound. The new port rotation will be Xiamen, Shenzhen-Chiwan, Shenzhen-Yantian, Kaohsiung, Los Angeles, Oakland, Kaohsiung and back to Xiamen.

The first sailing on the revised rotation will be operated by the APL Houston, voyage number: AHT 008E, which is due to arrive in Xiamen on July 1 and in Los Angeles on July 20.
