Kalmar launches new drive train 'K-Motion' in Asia Pacific market
Date:2016-01-22 Readers:

Kalmar, a part of Cargotec, announced that it has launched its new fuel-efficient 'K-Motion" drive train system for reachstackers, designed for container, intermodal and industrial handling, in the Asia-Pacific region, starting in Shanghai.

Embedded into the programming of the company's Gloria reachstacker, the K-Motion increases the efficiency and productivity of reachstackers by improving uptime, ergonomics and safety.

The K-Motion's combination of hydrostatic and mechanical technologies delivers a more efficient transmission and allows for a smaller engine, all without compromising drive and lift power.

All of this adds up to a reduction in both fuel consumption and exhaust emissions of up to 40 percent, a company statement said.

Said reachstacker and empty handler sales chief Stefan Johansson: "We have a long-term commitment to developing efficient and sustainable technology, and this includes the possible application of K-Motion technology across our entire range of reachstackers in the future."
