Fedex Express has relocated its operations station in Nanjing, Jiangsu province to a larger facility that offers greater handling capacity in a bid to meet growing customer demand in Nanjing.
Located in Jiangning district, the new Nanjing station can effectively handle the pick-up and delivery of all domestic and international express shipments for Nanjing.
Occupying an area of 2,500 square metres, the new station has an expanded office and warehouse area for 106 employees and 52 company vehicles.
The facility's sorting capacity is now two times greater than before, meaning that up to 2,000 packages can be sorted per hour, a company statement said.
"Nanjing is one of the most important cities for the development of FedEx in China. FedEx is committed to growing with the local Nanjing market by continually investing in its operations and improving our service offerings," said vice president of Ground Operations in China, Jimmy Chen.
"This new and expanded facility will improve our operational capabilities and create greater access to the global market."
