Chinese Bulk Carrier Arrested in Singapore
Date:2016-03-25 Readers:

The Chinese-flagged bulk carrier Rui Ning 1 was detained in Singapore, most likely due to unresolved payments, the latest records from Singapore’s Supreme Court show.

The 2001-built vessel was arrested on March 24 following instructions from a local law company Oon & Bazul LLP.

Managed by Shanghai Leading Energy Shipping, the 52,394-dwt bulker is currently moored off Singapore’s East Coast, according to AIS data.

The exact reason behind the arrest remains unconfirmed.

World Maritime News contacted the vessel’s manager for details on the event, however, the company has still not replied.

Focal Investigation & Security Agency Pte Ltd has been appointed for security and investigation purposes related to the matter.
