Walmart has signed Memorandum of Cooperation with Dongguan, just southeast of Guangzhou, to set up eight more stores and the largest cold chain distribution centre of China, servicing all stores in South China, Xinhua reported.

Walmart's mobile app covers 13 stores in Dongguan. The app brings convenience of online shopping for residents. Walmart will increase investment in Dongguan including the introduction of its warehouse membership, the Sam's Club. The 14th Walmart store in Dongguan to open in Shilong which will also include a cinema, restaurants and other retail stores.

Walmart first came to Dongguan in 1997. Walmart has already set up 13 stores in cities such as Humen, Changan, Fenggang and Dalang so far.
