A forum centered on the Maritime Silk Road was held in Lujiazui, Pudong New District of Shanghai on July 11, marking this year's China Maritime Day and echoing the country's Belt and Road Initiative.
The event, sponsored by the China Maritime Museum, Shanghai Maritime University and China Financial Information Center (CFIC), attracted more than 400 participants, including government leaders, shipping entrepreneurs, financial experts, and scholars.
The attendees exchanged ideas on Maritime Silk Road construction, shipping development, the Belt and Road Initiative's influence on shipping companies.
Xu Zuyuan, member of a committee of experts from the Shanghai International Shipping Center, suggested strengthening cooperation with countries along the Maritime Silk Road, accelerating the pace of building an international maritime judicial center, promoting the marine economy, and developing better infrastructure.
