The free trade zone (FTZ) of Zhangjiagang city held an inauguration ceremony on July 13 to build a temperature control supply chain industry park with an investment of 600 million yuan ($90 million), which will facilitate food supply chain logistics in the south of Yangtze River Delta.
Shanghai Zheng Ming Modern Logistics Co., Ltd, the park's investor, is the country's leading provider of professional supply chain solutions. It has 51 cold chain bases nationwide covering an area of more than 600,000 square meters.
The park will be an important logistics node that provides supply chain services including temperature-controlled food storage, cold-chain distribution, food processing, inspection and quarantine, technology development and e-commerce.
The project will take advantage of integrated regional resources to build Zhangjiagang into a pilot city in logistics innovation development, as well as contribute to the city's economic prosperity, said Huang Zhengming, president of Shanghai Zheng Ming Modern Logistics Company.
