The government of Shenyang signed a strategic cooperation agreement with some local businesses and service agencies on Aug 30 to improve its service network and help develop modern logistics, Shenyang Daily reported.

The agreement was jointly signed by the Shenyang government, Shenyang customs, Shenyang entry-exit inspection and quarantine bureau, Shenyang border check point, Liaoning Airport Management Group, Shenyang Railway Bureau and Yingkou Port Group; with the aim of building Shenyang into a key Belt and Road Initiative trade area for Northeast Asia.

According to the agreement, the parties will conduct cooperation in several fields, including port services, multimodal transportation, the construction of a logistics park, information, and finance.

Currently, a logistics platform covering land transportation, sea transportation, and air transportation already exists in Shenyang.

The Shenyang- Hamburg Railway officially came into operation on Oct 30, and total cargo worth 76 million dollars had been transported to Europe by July 14. Shenyang Xiantao Airport runs 114 flights covering 81 cities at home and abroad.

This January, the Shenyang government and Yingkou Port Group jointly established Shenyang Port Co, which makes Shenyang an inland city with access to a harbor.
