The First Inner Mongolia Merchants Conference saw agreements signed for 96 projects, Baotou Daily reported on Sept 14.
The 96 projects will cover areas including equipment manufacturing, modern logistics, e-commerce, healthcare, tourism, infrastructure, modern agriculture and livestock husbandry. A total of 41.17 billion yuan ($ 6.17 billion) will be spent on 67 of the 96 projects.
During the conference Hondlon District, the economic heartland of Baotou, Inner Mongolia autonomous region, established an alliance with Huacai Investment Co Ltd, with an agreement to build a cultural industrial park.
The cultural industrial park will cover an area of 3800 mu (253 hectares). The park will showcase industrial culture and will serve as a tourist attraction, whilst boosting economic growth in the city. A total of five billion yuan ($750 million) will be spent on construction work.
The Inner Mongolia Merchants Conference commenced on Aug 25 in Baotou, Inner Mongolia autonomous region. Some 1,114 representatives from the association of industry and commerce, along with representatives from industrial and commercial enterprises, attended the conference. The conference is a platform for merchants from Inner Mongolia to exchange ideas and share experience.
