Mediterranean Shipping Co (MSC) has clarified that’s it’s joint Maple/TP1 service with Maersk Line added after the collapse of Hanjin shipping will continue at the end of the month.

MSC said in a statement that the service, which started in mid-September, had been omitted for three weeks in October due to the Chinese Golden Week holidays on early October. This corrects a report from Seatrade Maritime News on Wednesday that the service had been suspended after three sailings with no concrete plans to resume.

“Maple is an exclusive MSC provision, and since September has omitted three calls during the so-called ‘Golden Week’ period,” MSC said in a statement.

“It will now resume its full service with a rotation which sees MSC Rochelle departing Yantian on 28th October and calling Shanghai, Busan, Long Beach and Vancouver.”

“MSC is committed to providing reliable service offerings to the trade, and in particular to meet the needs of shippers in the aftermath of Hanjin’s bankruptcy announcement,” the company added.
