Leading Chinese B2B cross-border e-commerce website DHgate opened a logistics center in the Xi’an International Trade and Logistics Park on Dec 14.

The center is the result of a cooperative agreement reached between DHgate and park authorities in September. It will serve around 1,500 vendors in Xi’an and surrounding areas to help them expand into the global market.

DHgate will also cooperate with local universities to establish an incubator for talented individuals in the e-commerce sector and enhance Xi’an’s reputation as an e-commerce hub. DHgate will also set up offices for its financial platforms DHpay and DHfinet, which are expected to be used by 2,000 companies in the next three years.

DHgate will set up a China-Kazakhstan cross-border e-commerce platform that features online product display, online payment and Kazakh customer service. The company expects 30,000 companies to join the platform after one year, and it hopes to increase the number to 300,000 in five years.

Thanks to the policies issued by the logistics park and its 100-million-yuan fund to support the e-commerce business, the region has attracted many domestic and foreign e-commerce companies. Now more than 500 e-commerce companies are operating in the park with an annual transaction volume of 30 billion yuan ($4.34 billion).
