Mail processing center breaks ground in Xi’an logistics Park
Date:2016-12-22 Readers:

China Post broke ground on a new mail processing center at the Xi’an International Trade and Logistics Park on Dec 16.

The ceremony was attended by Zhuang Changxing, deputy governor of Shaanxi province, officials from Xi’an city government, the park’s management committee and representatives from China Post’s Shaanxi branch office.

The processing center is part of China Post’s investment strategy in Xi’an and a step further towards implementing the Belt and Road Initiative.

The 1 billion yuan ($143.82 million) project will function as a transportation hub for China Post, a storage and logistics center in northwest China and a dispatch base for international mail.

Covering an area of 332 mu (22.13 hectares), the project will be able to process about 1 million items of mail. Upon completion, it will accelerate the processing speed of mail in Shaanxi province and northwest China and promote the international competitiveness of the region.

Yang Mingrui, director of the logistics park’s management committee said that the park will spare no effort to complete the construction of the supporting facilities and carry out the relocation plan as required by the project.
