SPOT rates for shipping containers from Asia to northern Europe dropped 4.5 per cent to US$1,116 per TEU in the week ending Friday, according to the Shanghai Containerised Freight Index (SCFI).

Asia-Mediterranean trade fell four per cent to US$1,042 per TEU, IHS Media reported.
