Liaoning province’s capital city Shenyang has set a new goal of constructing a logistics channel linking Yingkou Port and Shenyang, which is expected to build Shenyang into a logistics hub integrating land, maritime and air transportation in Northeast China, according to information released by the Shenyang Municipal Political Consultative Conference held on Jan 10.

Lying in the center of both the Northeast Asia economic circle and Bohai economic rim, and having three railway logistics centers and one international airport, Shenyang’s advantageous location and convenient transportation enhance its links with cities across China and Europe.

Statistics reveal that over 60 percent of daily necessities and petty commodities arriving in Shenyang through Yingkou Port come from the Yangtze River Delta and Pearl River Delta, and some of them are exported to Russia, Germany and other countries in Europe via the Eurasian Land Bridge.

Meanwhile, Shenyang has 99 businesses with logistics turnover exceeding 100 million yuan ($14.12 million), which mainly provide daily necessities, industrial commodities and frozen food.

Based on the logistics and trade conditions of Shenyang, the city plans to further strengthen its ties with Yingkou Port, the biggest cargo port in Northeast China, and the nearest harbor for Northeast China and the eastern part of Inner Mongolia autonomous region. Shenyang hopes to eventually build itself into an international logistics hub for the Yangtze River Delta, Pearl River Delta, Northeast China, Russia, and even Europe.
