A cargo train left Xi’an, capital of Northwest China’s Shaanxi province, for Budapest in Hungary on April 1, according to Xi’an Logistics Park authority.

On April 1, the train left Xi’an at 5:18 pm and will eventually pass through Kazakhstan, Russia, Belarus and Poland before reaching Budapest.

According to Xi’an Logistics Park authorities, it’s the fourth China-Europe freight train service in Xi’an. The operation of China-Europe freight train services is expected to accelerate the development of China (Shaanxi) Pilot Free Trade Zone, by aiding the construction of an international logistics channel.

The train, which has a total of 41 carriages, is expected to arrive in Budapest in around 17 days.

Most of the cargo is from Yiwu city in Zhejiang province, including clothes, toys and electronic products.

As planned, officials from Xi’an Logistics Park will visit Hungary to promote the operation of the freight train. In addition, discussions will take place between the two sides in launching a new goods distribution base in Budapest.
