Havila Shipping has clinched a contract extension from Statoil over the charter of two PSVs for a firm three years with plus options.

The options under the contract involving the vessels Havila Foresight and Havila Charisma are three optional periods each of one year for each vessel.

Havila Shipping said both contracts are in direct continuation of the existing contracts.

For the PSV Havila Charisma, the firm contract with Statoil will carry on until mid-December 2020, with optional periods until December 2023. For Havila Foresight, the firm contract will last until 1 January 2021, with optional periods until 1 January 2024.

“The contracts contain an obligation for Havila Shipping to install a battery package for each vessel and a solution to use electricity from shore at port. The investments will have considerable environmental effect through reduced fuel consumption. This confirms both company's efforts and goal to have environmental friendly vessel operations,” Havila Shipping stated.The financial terms of the contract were not disclosed.
