Maersk Supply Service enters Mexico market with charter contract

Maersk Supply Service has landed a long term charter contract to enter the Mexican market for the first time with Subtec, subsidiary of Blue Marine Group, for one of its Stingray subsea support new vessels.


“We are excited to commence our activities in the Mexico region and offer the exclusive capabilities and operational efficiencies of our Stingray newbuilding to Blue Marine Group and their clients,” said Steen S. Karstensen, ceo of Maersk Supply Service.


The subsea support vessel will operate in the Bay of Campeche performing general support duties including IRM and maintenance of Pemex’s platforms as well as enhancement and well stimulation.


The contract will start in from the second half of 2018 with a firm duration until June 2020. Financial terms of the contract were not disclosed.


Juan Reynoso Durand, executive chairman of Blue Marine, commented: “Despite the challenging market, we are confident that this vessel will be a valuable tool for our group in order to provide integrated services to oil companies in the region in the years to come.”
