Shanghai Free Trade Zone is introducing the so-called Internet Plus taxation system to save the time and costs of local enterprises.
The Shanghai FTZ Tax Bureau is promoting online tax services with 20 measures, including online credit rating system, paperless tax refund procedure, and online supervision of foreign exchange transactions.
Online tax filing and payment now accounts for 70 percent of all taxes collected in the FTZ, covering 135 taxable items in seven categories.
The bureau promoted e-tax services in five selected areas in Shanghai Free Trade Zone, including Waigaoqiao, Yangshan Port and Pudong International Airport, where taxpayers are taught online filing and payment step by step by tax professionals.
FTZ companies can also apply for tax-related services in 27 tax bureaus in other parts of Shanghai, officials said.
