On November 9th,
the 2nd Plenary Meeting of the Global Shipping Think Tank Alliance was held by
Korea Maritime Institute (KMI), at Korea Press Foundation, Seoul, South Korea.
The Alliance was sponsored by Shanghai International Shipping Institute (SISI),
and constituted by shipping think tanks all over the world. Delegates from
member units including KMI, SISI, IHS Markit, SRM, IMC-Frank Tsao Maritime
Library and R&d Center attended this year’s meeting. Besides, shipping
institutes like Korea Owners Association and Korea Port and Shipping
Association were invited to participate in the meeting as well.
In the meeting,
delegates discussed the Alliance Charter, and also presented on issues “Forecasting
demand and supply of the global container shipping” and “Economic effect by the
enlargement of ship size and strategies of shipping companies and port”. Owing
to the support from all the units, the meeting was a great success. Moreover,
it is announced that in the next year, the 3rd Plenary Meeting of
the Alliance will be sponsored by SRM in Italy.
