On June 4th, the Global
Shipping Think Tank Alliance initiated by Shanghai International Shipping
Institute (SISI) and co-founded by shipping think tanks worldwide held its 3rd plenary meeting in Naples, Italy. Delegates from SRM, the sponsor, SISI, the
secretariat and alliance members including Korea Maritime Institute (KMI), IMC-Frank
Tsao Maritime Library and R&D Center, Center for Maritime
Studies of National University of Singapore (CMS), Institute of Shipping
Economics and Logistics (ISL) etc. attended this year’s meeting. Guests from Intesa
Sanpaolo Banking Group, International Propeller Clubs, Italian
Ports Association,
University of Antwerp etc. are invited to the
meeting as well.
In this meeting, participants delivered
speeches and conducted discussion upon three topics – Belt and Road Initiative,
Relations between industry and maritime transport, and Development of
intermodal transport. With the support of all participants, this meeting
achieved a complete success. Meanwhile, it is confirmed that Mr. Yang Chang Ho,
president of KMI, as the new chairman of the Alliance, and the 4th meeting will be sponsored by IMC-Frank Tsao Maritime Library and R&D Center
in Hong Kong.
