SPOT rates for shipping containers from Asia to northern Europe in the week ending Friday fell a further 5.2 per cent to US$639 per TEU, while the Shanghai-Mediterranean rates lost 3.5 per cent to $797 per TEU, according to the Shanghai Containerised Freight Index (SCFI).

Shanghai-US west coast rates declined 7.5 per cent to $1,338 per FEU while China-US east coast dropped 6.6 per cent to $2,351 per FEU.
