THE Good-Food Group, a large supplier of nuts and dried fruits in Russia, has selected Kuehne + Nagel as its logistics provider for the global sourcing and domestic distribution of products.
Based on the scope of the new agreement, Kuehne + Nagel has tailored a dedicated door-to-door sea freight intermodal service to cater for the specific needs of the Good-Food Group.
The logistics provider transports the sensitive goods, such as nuts and dried fruits, to almost all Russian national and regional retail chains from Kaliningrad to Vladivostok, Kuehne + Nagel said.
The products originate from numerous locations around the globe, including Bangkok, Buenos Aires, Ho Chi Minh City, Los Angeles, Oakland, Valparaiso and Qingdao. They are transported to the ports of Kotka and St Petersburg and arrive at destinations such as Moscow and other cities across Russia.
Such various locations call for "high expertise" to efficiently manage and control stock volumes and to oversee the status of the goods at any time, the company said.
"Kuehne + Nagel's global logistics network offers us services at all vital origin and destination points. They also provide dedicated teams who are closely and specifically involved in our dried fruit and nuts shipments," said Vasily Ershov, head of logistics at Good-Food Group in Russia.
"Kuehne + Nagel's long experience and strong position in the Russian fast moving consumer goods (FMCG) market will be of great benefit to our successful collaboration."
Perry Neumann, managing director of Kuehne + Nagel Russia and Belarus, added: "As FMCG are one of our focus industries in Russia, we rate this new agreement with the Good-Food Group as a further confirmation that our integrated logistics services are precisely geared to the specific requirements of this market, which we intend to further tap into in the future."
