Kalmar to supply four reachstackers to Matrans in Port of Rotterdam
Date:2020-03-30 Readers:
KALMAR, part of Cargotec, is to supply four Eco Reachstackers to long-standing partner Matrans Rotterdam Terminal. The order includes a five-year Complete Care service agreement for the machines that are scheduled for delivery in the second quarter.

The Matrans Rotterdam Terminal has extensive experience in various segments including forest products, project and breakbulk cargo, and short-sea container transport. The terminal is part of the Matrans group and is located in the Port of Rotterdam. Matrans already operates a fleet of five Kalmar Eco Reachstackers.

Expanding the fleet to nine machines will deliver estimated annual fuel savings of EUR100,000 (US$109,296).

The easy-to-maintain and eco-efficient reachstacker can cut fuel consumption up to 40 per cent compared to older machines without compromising on productivity. It also features smoother and faster acceleration, less noise and lower emissions for enhanced driver experience.

The accompanying service package provides Matrans with preventive and corrective maintenance services, helping them to improve operational predictability, lower operational risk and reduce equipment downtime.

Said Matrans managing director Roelf Buist: "Our existing fleet of Kalmar Eco Reachstackers has been instrumental in helping us to cut emissions at the terminal and achieve a significant reduction in fuel costs."
